Ajna Chakra

We think yoga is about becoming more flexible and stronger but it is to find the inner Self, to live a more peaceful life, to spread that peace, to gain inner knowledge away from the 5 senses.

We can get out of the thoughts of this physical

body and its limitations by switching off the 5 senses. It is the 5 senses that feed information and the brain creates an image of it; that being; thoughts!

We then think this body is solid and unchangeable as thoughts seem real.

The ancient yogis teach us by using the inner sense that there are currents of life force moving in thousands of channels and energy centres; known as vayus, prana, nadis, chakras all within. This is the pranic body, the subtle body which underlies the physical.

All of which cannot be picked up by the 5 senses.

This physical body and its limitations seem overpowering because of limiting thoughts.

This week we work with Ajna chakra and  using mantra, mudra and inner sense we can experience the element of light that resonates with this centre.

By focussing on light within the inner body and not “the tension of my body” accompanied  with thoughts and inner images, we gain insight of there being something within that is beautiful, bright, light, spacious.

This is the experience of life within and it is the inner Self.

The side benefits of strength and flexibility do come but that is not the end goal.

Om Shanti
