This week in class; we will be working on how we can experience the inner essence of our Self during our practice. We can understand how we think “we are our pain, our memories, our personalities, our body.”
However all our body cells change every 7 years but we are still the same, over decades we change so that we may not be recognised anymore to someone from our past but we are still the same. There is a conscious unchanging, not ageing, persisting element within us, the Real truth of us.
All action, known as karma in Patanjali Yoga Sutras when led by the ego part of mind leave deposits known as asaya, which create memories and hold us into patterns of seeking enjoyment and avoiding pain. The circle of life and death.
When we act compulsively, this is a reaction from past memory deposits which keep us bound to the implications and we donot see beyond them.
When we act in a non compulsive manner, without attachment to self satisfactiion the deposits reduce in the body/mind and unyokes the attachment to thinking we are our body, our memory, our pains.
Om Shanti
