Meditation on part of body that is holding pain, purifies the memory not only of the pain but the attachment to it and also that which does the attaching.
And only an imprint of the memory remains.
The attaching aspect of mind, memory and the place/object meditated upon is just seen as a clear focus only, as it is also purified.
Yoga is to still the mind.
Mind covers the whole of the body.
