Transformation of the heart will transform body and mind.

Using the Buddhist method of practicing metta; meaning loving- kindness, unconditional love and deep friendliness; a positive caring approach that embraces everything.

When we feel the blessing of metta we can appreciate it, participate in it and allow that energy to touch us.

But nevertheless we are not “doing” it, neither do we control, limit or direct it in anyway.

Although it is the absence of all kinds of self centred negative emotions eg hatred, ill will, anger and fear, it is far more richer than the opposites of these emotions.

The great amount of energy that was  hooked into negative emotions is released and is transformed into peace, equanimity, love, care, joy, interest, respect and wonder.

On a physical level we experience wakefulness, vitality, warmth and subtle changes in the body.

If we are sensitive enough we can experience primordial energy, neither formed nor formless; just energy.

This is metta much more than an opposite of a negative emotion.

Allowing this energy to touch us and not to try to control it in anyway.

No matter how difficult life can be there is an inner calm that is fresh, trusting and appreciative.

Within us all is a seed of metta that is free from negativity and fear; let this be a source of nourishment and inspiration.

However small it may be, we can nourish this inner seed until it grows naturally and takes more space in our inner being so it can bloom and becomes the space in which we are.

Om Shanti
