You are beyond body and mind

New teaching theme for yoga starts tomorrow: (Thurs)

(photo looking out from my dad‘s house one morning this week)

Understanding and experiencing more into the unbounded Self. (mind stills)

There is an explanation from the Vigyana Bhairava Tantra (from the dharana 110); “Bondage and freedom are merely concepts.”

These words are from the commentary written by Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati - One sun gives multitudes of reflections. They have no separate existence and are totally dependent on the sun. In the same way, each and every being is dependent on one underlying Reality.

If we identify with the reflection, the mind- body, as we do, then we always feel separation, together with the accompanying confusion and fear. If however, we live with the understanding that our mind- body is but a shadow of Reality, then we can be liberated from our imagined bondage.

Essentially, we are not the reflection (the mind- body), but that which is the cause of the reflection and indeed of all reflections.

The aim of yoga is to bring about this realisation.

We will use Patanjali Yoga Sutras bk 1 verses 15&16:

When we release the thirst to desire anything seen or heard of; even what is promised in the scriptures there is complete freedom from the world of change that comes from the knowing the unbounded Self.

Using - asanas, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, dharana and dhyana.

Om Shanti
